Zyad is a highly skilled attorney with experience in a wide variety of areas including developing the rule of law and justice system in Iraq. He has partnered with the High Judicial Council, Human Rights Independent Commission and Iraqi Parliament in his mission to advance the rule of law in Iraq. Since 2007, Zyad has been working as professor of law at the University of Tikrit Law School.

His experience extends to acting for and advising foreign embassies on Iraqi laws and regulations as well as representing such organizations (in addition to individuals) before the Iraqi Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Prior to assuming his role as CEO of the Iraqi Law Firm, Zyad worked as a senior legal advisor with the Hartland Alliance International Organization, a legal advisor with the United Nations Development Programme and the British Council in Baghdad, Head of the Civic Dialogue Programme at USAID and as a legal advisor for the Iraq Civil Society Programme (an extension of USAID).
